Pennsylvania’s 15th congressional district is in north western Pennsylvania, to the south east of Erie and the north east of Pittsburgh. Approximately 50.35% of the population lives in rural areas. It is similar to the old 5th district but no longer stretches in bizarre ways to include random bits of democratic voters which causes it to lean almost entirely Republican. The Republican candidate is Glenn Thompson, an incumbent from the old 5th district who used to work in non-profit public health care before politics. His opponent is Susan Boser, a Democrat who wants to help rural Pennsylvania.
